 In Other

As motorsport attempts to cope with the changes across the world brought about by Covid-19, Ben Tuck’s 2020 season has become slightly clearer with the release of provisional calendars for both the VLN Nurburgring Endurance Series and the DTM Trophy. Ben is planning to line up on the grid of both series this year with top BMW squad Walkenhorst Motorsport, the team with which he claimed 5 podiums in 2019, including a podium at his 24Hrs of Nurburgring debut.

The 2020 season was already going to be busy, however with both championships attempting to complete their full quota of races in just half a year, there will be some inevitable clashes.  The full itinerary is now provisionally planned:

July 11th           DTM Trophy – Norisring

Aug 1st             VLN 4 – Nurburgring Nordschleife (TBC)

or

Aug 1st             DTM Trophy – Anderstorp (TBC)

Aug 8th            DTM Trophy – Zolder

Aug 29th          VLN 5 – Nurburgring Nordschleife

With another 8 weeks until the action starts, Ben is keeping sharp with a home training regime, including practice on his simulator. The resumption of racing cannot come soon enough for Ben:

“This year is going to be our biggest and busiest yet and it’s a shame that it’s been affected so much by Coronavirus, but the organisers have done a great job in trying to fit as much in as possible. The second half of this year is going to be super busy for sure”.

“I can’t wait for racing to start again and I’m really looking forward to getting back out to Germany to work with Walkenhorst again. But in the meantime, I’m going to be preparing as much as possible to make sure that 2020 is even better than 2019”.

Ben will be hitting the track again on June 27th for the first round of the VLN Nurburgring Endurance Series.
